Acts 13:47 For so hath The Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. ~ It’s interesting to me that this was a command from The Lord to the church, not an option. We are to go into all the ends of the earth and be a light. Light brings illumination, revelation, and vision. We are to show the world who Christ is by the way that we live. The spirit of our Father lives within us so our lives should not only reflect who he is but also radiate him in every situation, every encounter, every business transaction, etc.
Being the light of the world is a direct result of the spirit of our God living on the inside of us. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the light of man. The more of Jesus we have, the more our lives are transformed, the brighter our light. If America is the seedbed of the Gospel then why is her light so dim? Could it be because the church is so filled with compromise and sin that our lights no longer shine bright? Have we taken on the identity of the world that man can no longer tell the difference between the world and a people who have been touched by God and set apart for his purpose? It is my prayer and desire for the church that we would shine bright once again, that our lights would reach unto the ends of the earth bringing illumination, revelation, and understanding of who Jesus is to a people in darkness. That this generation would be the manifestation of the sons of God in the earth so that the knowledge of the glory of God would fill the earth; God working with man bringing forth his kingdom in the earth.
