Isaiah 58:11 And The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. ~The verses before verse 11 talks about fasting and the power that only comes through fasting. Vs 11 is the fruit of what fasting will do in the life of a believer. Fasting breaks bands of wickedness that keeps us in darkness and in lack of understanding. It breaks strongholds that keeps us in places of limitation and brings us into the freedom and liberty that is only found in Christ. We also understand that it breaks the power of unbelief, addictions, and every other stronghold that the enemy has in our life. It empowers us to live victoriously and to walk as more than a conqueror.
Fasting is a vital weapon and component to a Christian’s life if they want to walk in victory, places of power and authority, and places of dominion. Much of the church is powerless today and have nothing to offer people because we have not given ourselves over to a lifestyle of fasting. If we want to be the fullness of who God has called us to be, it will require us to be people of prayer and people of fasting. There is great life and power accessible through prayer and fasting.
