Luke 17:20-21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, the kingdom of God cometh not with observation. Neither shall they say, Lo here! Or, lo there! For, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. ~~ each one of us are called to be active in the kingdom. We are all members of one body which are to work together in unity. Each member has a function that they must fulfill in order for the body to function to full capacity. We cannot stand on the sidelines waiting for others to bring forth the kingdom of God. The kingdom is in each one of us and if one part of the body is not functioning in its purpose, the rest of the body suffers its loss.
I’ve talked with people who don’t view themselves as being important or not vital to the kingdom because they aren’t called to full time ministry or called to do what they view as being important. But please understand that each one of us is called by God to fulfill a certain role in the body. If we don’t fulfill that role, no one else can. Just like in our own physical bodies whenever something is not working correctly, other parts of our body tries to compensate but it’s not the same as when the whole body works together. So don’t look at yourself as being insignificant. You were born with purpose and have a responsibility to The Lord and to the rest of the body to fulfill your purpose, no matter what it may be. You are a vital part to the body and must be about the Lord’s business. The kingdom of God won’t come forth if we all just sit idly by expecting another to pick up the slack. Let’s make sure we are using the talents we’ve been given to the fullest so that we may not be ashamed at the time of his coming.
