Ps 16:8-9 I have set The Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.  ~~what I love about this is the consistency of life and victory that David experienced throughout his life because he purposed in his heart to always keep The Lord before him. When we read the account of David’s life, he experienced hardships, trials, struggles, wars, and major family issues but we always see David come out victorious. He was never overtaken or destroyed because he had purposed in his heart to keep The Lord before him. Even when David was caught in adultery, he didn’t run from God but he ran to God trusting in the mercy and forgiveness of a loving Father.

As Christians, our lives are not without difficulty. We are not exempt from the day to day troubles that men experience. But we have an advocate who is on our side. We have a faithful God who fights for us to bring us into victory and deliverance. We are not alone. So even in the worst of circumstances we can have hope. We can trust that as we keep The Lord always before us, he will guide us and direct our steps bringing us into victory and life. We don’t have to fear those things that rise up against us. No, we can trust that our God is faithful and that he is moving on our behalf. Because we have set him before us, we are victorious!
