2Timothy 2:20-21 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. ~ It is up to us what kind of vessel we are. We can be vessels who are purified in the fire on earth, prepared for good works, and set apart for the master’s use or we can be vessels of wood and earth, unrefined and unprepared.
We determine what kind of vessel we will be by the choices we make every day. Each one of us are responsible for our actions and the things that we do here on earth with the grace, faith, and giftings that God has placed within each of us. In the parable of the 3 servants where 1 was given 10 talents, another given 5 talents, and another given 1 talent, each one of them came before their master to given an account of the talents that they were given.
The Bible is our instruction manual on how we are to live in this life so that when we stand before our maker, we are not ashamed and found lacking. God has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness. He has equipped us with grace and faith. He has given us the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony. He has given us the weapons of our warfare so that we might be more than conquerors, victorious in this life. But all of this is done by the choices we make every day. We must make the daily decision to walk after the spirit, to live according to the word of God and to not allow our flesh to determine what we can or can’t do.
