Ephesians 4:1-2 I therefore the prisoner of The Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love. ~ Here Paul is speaking to the church and strongly urging them to walk, to live worthy (appropriately) after a godly sort. As Christians, we are required to live our lives in accordance to the word of God and not based on the wisdom of man or by what is acceptable or unacceptable in society. Our lives are to be governed by the word of God as absolute truth~ a truth that never changes throughout the eons of time. We must remember as Christians that this world is not our home; we are just passing through. We are to keep ourselves undefiled from this world and the ‘systems’ of this world. We can’t change the culture by being like the culture.
I want to urge you that in these last days, you protect your hearts. Not only from the perversion that is increasingly spreading throughout this land but also against the spirit of hate that is seeking to seed itself in the hearts of man. These are two of the signs of the end times. These are both born out of the kingdom of darkness to bring destruction to men’s lives. We as Christians must remember that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places. We must protect ourselves that these things do not creep into our hearts. We must gird ourselves up with the truth of God’s word and allow him to keep us. I want to urge you today to hold fast to truth and lift up your eyes, for your redemption draweth nigh.
