Zachariah 3:4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying take away the filthy garments from him. And he said, behold I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. ~ God keeps bringing me back to this portion of scripture. This tells the account of Joshua standing before the Lord and Satan standing on his right side to resist him, to accuse him, and to condemn him. But we see the Lord rebuke Satan, justify Joshua, and give him a change of raiment. He caused Joshua’s old identity to pass from him and brought Joshua into a new identity and a new realm of authority.
As Christians, we often do not realize the position that Jesus placed us in when he died and rose again. We often live well below our position in Christ. Some of us never come to the realization that our old man is passed away with its lusts, its nature, and its limitations. We never rise up and function in the power and the authority of who we are but we continue to live in who we were yesterday. We put on new clothes but don’t put on a new way of living. We have been clothed with kingly clothes but we still sit on the street corner and live as a beggar. We don’t acknowledge what we’ve been given. It is time for the body of Christ to recognize who they are and what’s been made available to us. It is time for us to walk in the dominion and realms of our true identity in Christ, as Kings and Priests unto our God.
