Zechariah 7:6,9 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, Not by might, not by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. ~ King Cyrus wrote a decree concerning the building of the temple. After the foundation of the temple was laid, there were kings that rose up a conspiracy against Israel which caused the work on the temple to be stopped. Approx 17 years later King Darius wrote a decree to finish the temple. In this decree was not only the right to complete it but the provision for building the temple and the provision for sacrifices to be made during the building of it.
Anything that we are called to do for the Lord will face opposition from the enemy and many times delays that seek to hinder what God has called us to do. These come to try to get us discouraged, to try and cause us to lose our focus, and cause us to give up on the promise. Unfortunately, many times the devil succeeds. People begin to look at the temporal that can be seen with their eyes instead of the eternal promises of God. But if we will remain faithful despite the time delays, if we will hold fast to our confidence in God, He will establish it and bring it to pass. God will bring whatever provision you need. He will bring people into your life to partner up with you so that his will and his plans for your life will be established.
Don’t get discouraged in the delays. Don’t get frustrated by the opposition. Know that God works all things out for our good; nothing is wasted. He has a way of making sure we are right on schedule. So today refuse to allow the lies of the enemy make you feel anxious, fearful, or overwhelmed. If your vision is small enough that you can do it on your own then you aren’t dreaming big enough. Let God be your rescue and defense. Trust him and allow him to show himself strong on your behalf. Trusting in him is the best place you can be. For faith is what pleases God.
