Psalm 87:5 And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her. ~ The Lord directed me to read this verse today and began to speak to me about process. As we are willing to allow the Holy Ghost to lead us and take us through process, we are changed and are birthed into greater levels of glory. He showed me a butterfly and the process it goes through before it becomes a beautiful creature and takes flight. It is born into the world as a caterpillar but then goes into a cocoon and begins process. During this process the caterpillar goes through change. The characteristics and nature of the caterpillar is changed. After several days of process, the cocoon breaks open and a beautiful butterfly emerges. Though the life that emerges from the cocoon is the same life that went in, it is now in a new and greater realm and dimension of glory. It no longer crawls upon the earth but now soars in the air with newness of life and greater arenas of influence and experience. This is exactly what happens with us when we allow God to take us through process. In the midst of the process, old things are being cut off. New things are being developed. The way we live, the way we think, and even the way we look begins to change- all because we have embraced the process of The Lord.
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and she asked me, “girl, what is your mom doing? She is rockin’ it! She looks fantastic.” My response to her was, “she has finally embraced her identity in Christ.”
What if the caterpillar that went through process emerged from the cocoon but didn’t recognize that it had been changed; that its very nature and character had been changed. It would have beautiful wings and the ability to fly but never leave the ground. Without recognizing and embracing the change, it would never come into the fullness of life and experience what it was created to be.
Today, I want to encourage you to not only embrace process but to recognize the changes that takes place in you through the process. Refuse to live out of past glories, past limitations and embrace who God says you are. Embrace the new life that he brings forth in you as the result of the process he takes you through. Sometimes process isn’t fun but the benefits and the results are worth every moment! Don’t abort process but embrace it!
