Luke 6:33,35 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? For sinners also do even the same. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. ~ Jesus is talking to his disciples in this portion of scripture. If we want to be called disciples, then we are held to a higher standard of living. We are not permitted to live according to what the world defines as right and wrong but we are to live according to the laws of the kingdom – which often times seems to be in direct opposition of what the world calls right. We aren’t held accountable for the actions of others or the way they choose to live. However we are responsible and will be held accountable for the way we choose to live. We can embrace the way of life defined in scripture and be His disciples or we can live a powerless life as a natural human being. I choose to be a disciple.
