Psalm 27:11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. ~ King David is praying and asking God to lead him in the way in which he should go. We understand that according to Isaiah 55, God’s ways are higher than ours. There are two paths or courses of life that we get to choose from while living on this earth. The first is the wide and broad way that the world takes which is a way that leads to destruction. It’s the course of life that man takes that is based upon the wisdom of man. It’s a way in which man puts their trust in themselves and basis their decisions on circumstance, their senses, their experiences, and the rational thinking of man. The problem with this way of living is that the decisions are based on temporal things that change from day to day. This way of living is separated from the wisdom and power of God. This is the way of life that the carnal Christian takes who is moved by feeling.

The second is the way that is narrow and straight. This is the way of The Lord that leads to life, freedom, and liberty in Christ Jesus. This way of living is based upon the word of God and his direction for your life. This way of life is based upon the eternal word of God that never fails and never loses its power. When we put our trust and confidence in The Lord and we choose to live according to his counsel, we are inviting him in to our situations and we give him free access to move on our behalf. This course of life brings us into the supernatural of God. This course of life allows God to overthrow our enemies and brings us unto his expected end for our life. When we choose this course of life, God establishes us on his word that never moves, his word that never fails. He causes our head to be exalted above our enemies and causes our circumstances and situations to change, to work out for our good.

Today, let’s choose the way of the Lord. Let’s refuse to look at our situation and respond out of our own wisdom and our own ability but let’s call upon the name of Lord. When we count God as faithful and choose to trust him, he strengthens us and fills us with his life. Let’s choose the straight and narrow path that leads to eternal life.
