John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ~ Apart from him, he we can do nothing. He is the vine and we are the branches. As we stay connected to him through relationship, all the life, the wisdom, the power, everything that HE IS is made available to us. It’s in him that we live, and move, and have our being. It’s through him that we are changed, delivered, and set free. He is the one who empowers us to be a fruitful part of his kingdom.
Abide means to stay in a given place, relation, or expectancy. To continue, to dwell, endure, remain, and tarry. We are the ones who determine if we will stay connected to God through relationship. The choice is ours. As long as we choose to stay connected, God will remain faithful and connected to us. God will never leave us nor forsake us however we can choose to cut off his life line to us by choosing to not stay in a place of communion and fellowship with him. God is a God of relationship. He desires to spend time with us. As we make ourselves available to him through relationship, it positions us in a place where the very life, power, and spirit of God can flow through us bringing forth his kingdom and dominion in the earth.
Today, let’s purpose in our hearts to abide in him. Let’s purpose to be a people who seek him and pursue him.
