2 Peter 1:12-13 Wherefore, I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you remembrance… ~ Peter tells us 3 times in 4 different scriptures that we must remember what we’ve heard and been taught. In verse 16 he states that we have not followed fables or tales but that we follow truth.

Many times, the things that we experience in life and information that is gathered through our 5 natural senses is in direct opposition to our faith and the things that God has spoken. We must recall to the mind the things that God has said so that our vision, our focus, and our faith keeps in front of it truth so that we can walk in the paths that God has placed before us. If we aren’t careful, our faith will be eroded and we will begin to believe what we see and not what God has said.

We know that all scripture is given for our learning and instruction. It is given to us so that we know and understand God’s will and plan for our lives. We need to hold fast to the truth of the word despite what we see going on around us. So today, recall to your mind the promises that God has given you. Stir up your memory and allow yourself to dream again about the possibilities of what God can do in your situation. Know that he is the faithful God who promised.
