James 1:22-24 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgeteth what manner of man he was. ~ As Christians, the enemy would like for us to forget that we are no longer natural fleshly men but we are spirit. We have been given the power to become the sons of God and have received of his fullness. He would like for us to forget that we have grace abounding towards us every day in every situation that empowers and equips us with more than we need to be successful. He would like for us to forget that we are more than conquerors and that if God be for us, who can be against us? He would like for us to forget that we have peace that passes all understanding, that we are seated in heavenly places with Christ far above this world and the demonic powers that rule the atmospheres. He would like for us to forget that our lives are hid in Christ and that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. He would like for us to forget that we are partakers of the divine nature and that we are ambassadors of Christ in the world to bring forth the manifestation of the kingdom of God through faith.
If we will remember these things, it will cause us to live differently, no longer as mere men but as men in covenant with an all powerful, loving, and kind God. So let’s remember today who God has made us to be through the blood that was shed for us on Calvary. We don’t have to try to do it, we just need to walk it. That’s who we are!
