Luke 1:8, 11 And it came to pass, that while he executed the Priest’s office before God in the order of his course… And there appeared unto him an angel of The Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. ~ This is the account of the angel Gabriel visiting Zacharias telling him of the birth of John the Baptist. Zacharias and his wife Elizabeth were both from the Priestly order and both were well stricken in years. They had no children because Elizabeth was barren. But out of their faithfulness, God heard their prayer and opened up Elizabeth’s womb and removed her barrenness.
Faithfulness is a character and trait that God looks for in people. Faithfulness protects us from opening the door to the enemy and it brings God’s blessing in our lives. I believe that Zacharias’ faithfulness positioned him in a place to be the father of the coming Prophet John because the Lord saw that Zacharias would faithful to teach John. Being faithful is key to walking in the blessings of God.
When no one else sees your faithfulness, God does. Don’t be weary in being faithful. Today could be the day where the Lord visits you in your faithfulness. Let’s be a people who keep our hands to the plow and be in expectation that the Lord sees and the Lord is the one who rewards…. Be faithful today in whatever God has called you to do.
